In summary, the Federal Judge in the Angelotti case has lifted the injunction issued previously. The injunction had prohibited the DWC from collecting the $100.00 activation fee for liens filed prior to January 1, 2013.
Per the Order of Judge Wu, the DWC will have until 8:00 a.m. on November 9, 2015 to relaunch the online portal for paying the fees. Lien claimants will have until midnight on December 31, 2015 to activate their liens or their liens will be dismissed by operation of law on January 1, 2016. *If the DWC cannot have the payment portal up and running by November 9, 2015 then the time limit for filing the fee will be extended.
